Manager of Creative Services
Location: Cambridge, MA

Zipcar is looking for a Manager of Creative Services to oversee and direct Zipcar’s creative work in order to continue to grow the brand and the company. Additionally, the Manager will interface with clients within the home office as well as in the field. This position will report directly to the VP of Marketing.

Manager of Creative Services

• Serves as creative director for Zipcar brand. Establishes and manages the conceptual and stylistic look, feel and tone of the brand.
• Partners with clients on briefs and creative to manage their expectations.
• Directs creative team to answer strong strategies that communicate messages that breakthrough to our consumer, shape a consistent brand image and meet the brand expectations.
• Directs creative team to implement designs for applications such as (but not limited to) signage, apparel, direct marketing, press kits and other collateral projects, from inception through finished Mac art including art direction and collaboration with photographers on photo shoots.
• Manages, oversees, trains, and evaluates performance of creative team to do breakthrough work that meets the strategy, budgets, deadlines and impacts sales.
• Partners with the VP, Marketing to develop a pool of freelance talent to be resourced when needed.
• Creates and develops the design through to production all non-broadcast material (Newspaper, Direct Mail, Print, Outdoor, In-Store Signing & Collateral)
• Manages, develops, trains, and evaluates the performance of the Graphic Designers, Graphic Artists, and Production Artists
• Works in partnership with all levels of clients within the home office and the regional offices to understand, interpret and provide strategic recommendations for the assigned projects
• Special projects as assigned
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Quark, Acrobat
• Strong communication skills

Job Requirements

• 7 - 10 years management experience in the field with 5 + years of management experience
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Quark, Acrobat, Flightcheck
• Fashion & Tabletop Photography Shoot Experience
• Strong communication skills

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Commercial Art or Design or equivalent job experience
