Summary
This position is responsible for the assembly, testing and distribution of vehicle hardware for the Zipcar fleet.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Production of vehicle wiring harnesses
  • Assembly of RFID card readers and control units
  • Final testing of all in-vehicle components and systems
  • Assist in designing schematics for vehicle harnesses (part of lean manufacturing initiative)
  • Assist in reordering and inventory auditing for primary system components
  • Assist company technicians and engineers in research and development of in vehicle hardware

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:

  • Study in electrical or computer engineering
  • Good understanding of circuit schematics and general circuit operations
  • Demonstrate good mechanical skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexible to work various shifts, as assigned
  • Demonstrate good soldering skills
  • Interpersonal skills—the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things
  • Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly
  • Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
