our leadership team
When it comes to putting the “Zip” in Zipcar, no one has more drive than Mark. With more than 20 years experience leading businesses in transportation, technology and consumer services, he doesn’t need GPS to move a company in the right direction. Mark has been in the car sharing industry since 2006 when he took the wheel at Flexcar, a Seattle-based car sharing company. He became president of Zipcar in 2007, when Zipcar acquired Flexcar, creating the world’s largest car sharing network. During his tenure at Zipcar, he has managed the company’s growth in 20 major metropolitan areas, and on more than 300 college campuses in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain and Austria.
Mark and the Zipcar team are focused on expanding Zipcar’s leadership position in technology innovation, sustainability, and member service while continuing to revolutionize personal mobility. Powered by the global network of Avis Budget Group, Mark is driving Zipcar’s growth across geographies, technologies and service models.
Mark’s career has been defined by leveraging operational best practices to ensure customer satisfaction and revenue growth. His ability to streamline complex operations with a focus on what matters most – our members – helps Zipcar continue to expand its global operations with the same entrepreneurial and member-centric approach that has made Zipcar successful thus far.

executive vice president, product & member experience
Lesley and her team are the behind-the-scenes masterminds who take a people-centered approach to improve, design and innovate the Zipcar member experience across all touch points and supporting systems—from mobile to web to member support to the Zipcar itself. Among many other cool experiences, Lesley led the charge in creating Zipcar's smart phone applications, making it possible for the rest of us to reserve a Zipcar and honk its horn from across the parking lot.
Prior to Zipcar, Lesley was part of the Microsoft Office Product Group and held key product management and marketing roles at Groove Networks. Earlier on, working in an international service design consultancy, she led cross-discipline teams to design and deliver innovative, service-focused, simple experiences for all kinds of consumers and for global clients with complex, multi-channel service delivery systems like BMW, Sheraton, Weight Watchers and AT&T.
Her passion for developing and delivering great experiences for people is matched by her personal enthusiasm for new experiences. She's co-founded an art studio, volunteers each year internationally, and participates on the board of local non-profits aimed at addressing problems and opportunities impacting the world's poorest countries.
Lesley is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), and earned her MBA from Northeastern University.
executive vice president & chief marketing officer
While we may not always believe Brian when he expounds upon his good taste in music, we do trust him leading our marketing and communication teams. As Zipcar's chief marketing guru, he is a seasoned leader who is passionate about our ever evolving efforts, including global brand building, member acquisition, social media, public relations and delivering new innovative products and services to further enhance the member experience.
Prior to joining the Zipcar team, Brian had his own consultancy called Little Harbor Group. He has held leadership roles at Boathouse, a brand communications agency, and I'm in!, a leisure travel website that he co-founded. He was a member of the founding executive teams of Upromise and Connection to eBay, and has held senior roles in sales and marketing at EF Education. Earlier in his career he worked in global marketing for Sheraton Hotels and for Hill, Holliday Advertising.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College, as well as an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
vice president, sales & operations
Who gets to lead Zipcar’s next phase of growth and expansion? This guy. As Avis Budget Group’s former Senior Director of Sales for the Eastern US, and leader of Southeast Area Operations, Andrew has just a little bit of experience growing and managing fleets of thousands of vehicles (OK, seriously, a ton of experience).
We’re pumped to have Andrew’s leadership in sales and operations, as it was instrumental to achieving growth and world-class customer service in his prior roles at the Avis Budget Group.
Before he made his way to the big wide world of automobiles, Andrew worked in wireless technology as Regional General Manager with Clearwire Corporation. He also spent over 6 years with Cintas Corporation in various sales and operational leadership roles.
Andrew holds a bachelors degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is finalizing a Masters of Science at Cabrini University.
vice president, strategy & corporate development
We were lucky enough to have Gretchen join Zipcar in 2010 as Director of Business Development, and we’re even luckier she’s expanding her impact our strategy development and planning goals. She’s developed critical partnerships with a whole slew of folks, including auto manufacturers, developers, and suppliers. This resulted in Zipcar’s university partnership with Ford Motor Company and an alternative fuel vehicle partnership with American Honda. So, yeah, you could say she’s kind of a big deal.
Before arriving at Zipcar, Gretchen consulted on global expansion for a variety of industry sectors – including creative, technology, and finance – and companies of varying size, from start-ups to large multinational firms. Gretchen spent her early career working on international policy issues with a focus on Asia.
Gretchen is a graduate of Tulane University and holds an MBA from London Business School. She was awarded the US Presidential Management Fellowship in 2003 and, because we can’t tout her awesomeness enough, a specially designated Zipcar Innovator Award in 2012.
