ladies and gentlemen, start your iPhone
|
You've probably heard the big news that Zipcar now has
an iPhone™ app. But did you hear all the cool stuff you can do with it? You can find and reserve Zipcars while walking down the street. You can honk your Zipcar's horn from across the parking lot. You can even use it to make pancakes! (Just kidding. But hey, two outta three.) If you haven't yet, download the Zipcar App for free.
As you use the app, please keep carrying your
Zipcard. That way, if your iPhone runs out of juice, isn't getting service, or gets lost or stolen, you can use your trusty Zipcard to keep on zippin'. Scan your card once at the start of each reservation, then for the rest of the trip you can lock and unlock the car with just the iPhone. (Pssst. You don't need your Zipcard to honk.)
We worked hard on this app and we hope you dig it. If you have a chance, swing by the
App StoreSM to rate and review us. Not rocking the iPhone? Check out our mobile page for
what you can do with BlackBerry®, Android™ and other
high-tech gizmos.

| pumpkin-spiced ziptrips from $7/hr
|
|
Fall rules. You get to carve pumpkins, go apple
picking and dress up like a zombie (you know, for the kids.) You also get to
take Ziptrips starting at just $7/hr. Yup, our low hourly rates are hanging out
through the fall. So carve a Z into your pumpkin to celebrate! Then reserve a
Zipcar, grab some pals and have some fall fun. Go apple picking, browse a
colorful farmer's market or zip to the grocery store to stock up on candy.
(It's not for you. It's for the trick-or-treaters. Yeah, that's it.) Book your Ziptrip now. Just sort by price on the reservations page to
find the best deal.

just touch my cheek before you leave
|
You spend a nice few hours hanging out with your Zipcar and then what? You're just gonna leave without saying goodbye?? I guess that Ziptrip didn't mean as much to you as it did to us. (Sigh.) We'll forgive you as long as you remember to scan out with your Zipcard at the end of your reservation. Just a quick little kiss goodbye is all we ask for. You see, if you just leave and forget to scan out, then you might get charged a late fee, and we might start binging on Chunky Monkey and asking our friends if you really like us, and then no one's happy. So scan out, pretty please. (If you're using the Zipcar App for the iPhone or iPod touch®, you can lock up with the virtual key fob and skip this step.)

set us up with your friend
|
| Your friends have probably seen Zipcars around town
(looking pretty shiny, if we do say so ourselves). Maybe they've even wondered
what we're like. (Cute, fun and reliable? Sounds like a keeper.) So
how about getting us crazy kids together? Refer a friend to Zipcar and it could
be a long-term relationship. You'll get credit for hooking us up, $50 driving
credit to be exact. (And that's $50 for every friend you refer who becomes a
member.) Sound good? Then refer a friend now. And if it all
works out, we'll invite you to the wedding. |
more rewards for feeding your zipcar |
Want a gift for filling up your Zipcar with fuel before dropping it off? Our local partners are still providing special surprises for some Zipcars near you. You'll find the item near the gas card in the driver's side visor. If you see the gift but don't plan on filling up, please leave it for the next Zipster who refuels the Zipcar. There's good karma for you either way!

the zipcar "drive for food" |
Between October 31 and November 20, we'll be gathering canned goods and non-perishables for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. We're looking for your help and support in a few ways:
- If you're interested in volunteering for Zipcar's "drive for food" and can spare a few hours to pick up items from various Chicago locations, let us know. We'll provide the Zipcar drive time.
- If you have canned or non-perishable food items to donate, let us know. We'll be picking up items from various drop points throughout the city. We'll email you soon to let you know where.
- And if you gather more than 50 items at your home, we'll come pick them up from you.
More details are forthcoming, but if you're interested in helping contribute to the Chicago Greater Food Depository this season email toby@zipcar.com with the subject Count Me In. Volunteers and those who donate will receive driving credit for participating.* Be sure to include your Zipcard number in the body of the email. A coordinator will be in touch with you soon.
*Amount of driving credit awarded for member participation will be determined by Zipcar and will be added to individual accounts between November 20 and December 1, 2009.

treat or treat? |
There are no tricks at Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique (115 N Wabash Ave) because everything is delicious. Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique bakes all cupcakes from scratch daily using only the highest-quality natural ingredients. Their extra-moist cupcakes are decorated with their signature Sugar Bliss bloom; a rich and creamy frosting topped with a signature dot.
At Zipcar, we know this to be true. Sugar Bliss is just down the street from our office and, yes, we do indulge from time to time (to time to time). Why are we telling you this? Because on Friday, October 30 or Saturday, October 31 between 4-6pm, if you flash your Zipcard, you'll receive a free frosting shot. Sweet!
