AID FOR AIDS

aidforaids.org
Zipcar has teamed up with AID FOR AIDS International (AFAI) to pick up unused medication that will be donated to those without access to life-saving HIV drugs in developing countries. AFAI is a non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of people in developing countries and immigrants here in the US who are living with HIV/AIDS. Their work empowers people living with this disease, as well as their caregivers, and the community at large, by providing access to medications, health education, HIV prevention strategies and advocacy.

AIDS Walk

aidswalk.net
Help support AIDS Walk New York and join the Zipcar team to help raise money to fight this disease! AIDS Walk New York supports the services provided by the GMHC in addition to other organizations representing the entire spectrum of HIV/AIDS services. Zipcar helps this great cause by donating transportation when it's needed. (Although when it comes time to walk, we park and hoof it. We promise.)

Clean Air NY

cleanairny.org
Clean Air NY is a network of individuals, employers, employees and community organizations in the New York metro area committed to the idea that every person can help clean our air (right up our ally!). The idea is to reduce vehicle miles traveled in the metro area by encouraging simple, alternative travel behaviors such as car sharing (sound familiar?). They even offer real-time Air Quality Action Day Updates, which you can sign up for on their website or by texting CLEAN to 42269 (standard text message rates apply). Clean Air NY is sponsored by the New York State Department of Transportation in support of statewide air-quality efforts, and we also believe in what they are doing.
