Zipcar today announced its expansion to Latin America with its launch in Costa Rica. The expansion brings car sharing to even more people who want access to a car without the cost and hassle of ownership.

Twenty Zipcars are now available for reservation by the hour or by the day in easily accessible locations throughout San Jose, Heredia and Alajuela. The vehicles are parked in designated spots for convenient pick-up and drop-off and can be reserved in seconds on Zipcar’s mobile app.

The launch is a pivotal milestone in Zipcar’s international expansion, which already includes a well-established presence in over 500 cities and towns across Europe and North America as well as Zipcar’s recent expansion to Asia, launching in Taiwan this past June.  As a pioneer of car sharing for almost 20 years, Zipcar’s entry into Latin America widens its global network, providing more than one million members with access to even more vehicles.
