Zipcar and the Maryland Department of Transportation Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) today announced a new partnership to add 15 Zipcars to eight rail stations along the Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink and Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Train lines. This builds upon the company’s success throughout the state, where it has been operating since 2008.

The fleet, which includes a Honda Civic and a Toyota Prius, will be available for reservation at the following eight stations:

  • Light RailLink
    • Mount Washington
    • North Avenue
  • Metro SubwayLink
    • Mondawmin
  • MARC Train
    • Dorsey
    • Halethorpe
    • Laurel
    • Odenton
    • West Baltimore

Riders will now be able to enjoy traffic-free train travel, all while knowing they’ll have on-demand access to a vehicle once they reach their destination. This addition will also increase the number of sustainable mobility options throughout Maryland and, in turn, help reduce personal vehicle ownership, traffic congestion and carbon emissions.
