Car sharing means fewer cars, cleaner air, and more green spaces. In fact, each Zipcar takes up to 13 privately owned cars off the road. And we’re a sustainable transportation option in hundreds of cities, towns and universities.

What is Zipcar? 

  • Zipcar is a round-trip car-sharing network that helps over one million members access cars on demand by the hour or day.  

  • Zipcar offers members a fleet of vehicles with over 60 different makes and models, including hybrids, SUVs, luxury cars, and cargo vans. 

  • Zipcar fills a vital need for people who occasionally need a car for purpose-driven trips, and want to avoid the cost and hassle of owning a car in the city.  

  • The Zipcar mobile app for iPhone and Android helps members find the closest car, reserve, unlock and lock it, and report its state. Learn more at zipcar.com/mobile. 

  • Zipcar is a cost-effective alternative to car ownership. Gas, insurance options, maintenance, 180 miles (or 200 km) a day, and a dedicated parking spot are all included. Zipcar also offers discounted driving rates for Business customers and discounted memberships to students 18+ on select campuses. 

  • Zipcar is spelled as one word, with a capital "Z" and lower case "c". The following are common misspellings of our company's name: "ZipCar", "zipcar", "Zip Car"
