Fitcorp and Zipcar Strive to Change Lives

Boston's largest locally-owned fitness provider partners with the country's largest car sharing service to create healthier communities

Cambridge, MA (March 1, 2006) — Two of Boston's leaders in improving urban lifestyles for local residents are working together to create healthier Metro Boston communities. Fitcorp, the leading provider of fitness in the Boston area, and Zipcar, consistently recognized for offering the country's leading car sharing experience, today announced a partnership to encourage more than 20,000 members of both organizations to make healthy choices for themselves and their communities.

Beginning in March, Zipcar and Fitcorp will offer special discounts and incentives to their membership bases, including reduced joining fees, free T-shirts and free driving time. Fitcorp members can join Zipcar for $25, a savings of $50 per year. Zipcar members can join Fitcorp with no signup fees, also a savings of $50. The two companies will also partner to promote community-conscious choices such as car sharing, which helps reduce traffic, parking and environmental concerns, and healthy personal choices like physical fitness and nutrition. Fitcorp and Zipcar are also planning future partnerships for upcoming charity events that celebrate fitness and wellness, such as the Pan Mass Challenge in August 2006.
