Zipcar Receives Computerworld Honors Program 21st
Century Achievement Award

Zipcar, North America's largest car sharing company and premier car sharing
experience, has been honored with the prestigious Computerworld Honors
Program 21st Century Achievement Award. Zipcar was selected as the winner
in the transportation category, recognized for revolutionizing the way
urban America thinks about car ownership by leveraging wireless technology
and connectivity to create a system that makes reserving, accessing and
using a Zipcar as simple as getting cash from an ATM.
The Computerworld Honors Program 21st Century Achievement Award honors
the extraordinary achievements of those whose positive contributions to
the IT revolution have left an indelible mark on the world. Each year,
the program's Chairmen's Committee, a group of 100 Chairmen and CEOs of
global technology companies, nominates individuals and organizations around
the world whose visionary applications of information technology promotes
positive social and economic progress.
"Each year, the Computerworld Honors Program seeks to recognize organizations
for their ongoing efforts to utilize technology in order to benefit society,"
said Bob Carrigan, Chairman of the Computerworld Honors Program Chairmen's
Committee and President, IDG Communications. "We are proud to acknowledge
Zipcar's contributions."
According to Zipcar CEO Scott Griffith, the honor underscores the benefits
Zipcar is bringing to people who live, work and play in cities all throughout
North America. "Zipcar's team has leveraged technology to create
an award winning user experience that improves and transforms communities
by offering drivers a fun, affordable and environmentally-friendly alternative
to car ownership," he said. "We are proud that Computerworld
has recognized our accomplishments and the important changes we're creating."
