Zipcar CEO, Scott Griffith, Recognized
at Babson ELiTE Conference

Griffith Named Winner of Entrepreneurship in Technology Excellence
Award
CAMBRIDGE, MA (November 9, 2006) —
Zipcar, North America's largest car sharing company, today announced
that its CEO, Scott Griffith, will be recognized at this evening's
Babson College ELiTE Conference as the winner of the Entrepreneurship
in Technology Excellence Award in the entrepreneurship category. The award
presentation will be held on Babson College's campus in Olin Hall
at 6:00 p.m.
Griffith is being recognized for his groundbreaking work at Zipcar where
he has led international expansion of the company's transformative,
self-service business.
The annual ELiTE Conference is hosted by Babson's Alumni Technology
Council and recognizes, celebrates, and reinforces the integration of
entrepreneurship and technology. The conference previously recognized
Jeff Taylor, founder of Monster.com and Charles Brenner, Senior VP of
the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology. This year, ELiTE will also
recognize John D. Halamka, CIO of CareGroup Health System in the category
of leadership.
Scott Griffith was appointed to the positions of chief executive officer
and president of Zipcar in February of 2003. Under Griffith's leadership,
Zipcar has emerged as the country's largest car sharing service.
In July 2004, Zipcar became the first and only car sharing company in
the United States to attain profitability in all of its established markets.
For his accomplishments at Zipcar, in 2005 Fast Company profiled
Griffith as one of "Four Leaders You Need to know" and Ernst and Young
