Zipcar Strengthens Washington DC Operations; Adds Regional Vice President to Lead Growth and Marketing Operations

CAMBRIDGE, MA (August 22, 2007) —Zipcar, the world’s largest car sharing service, today announced that Ellice Perez has joined the company as Vice President of its Washington, DC. operations. With more than ten years of business development and strategic growth experience, Ms. Perez joins the strong Zipcar team in preparation for the company’s continued Metro DC expansion. Ms. Perez will develop Zipcar’s regional marketing, fleet and member service operations across Washington DC, Virginia and Maryland. As Regional Vice President, Ms. Perez will report directly to Zipcar CEO, Scott Griffith.

A Zipcar member since 2005, Ms. Perez says she plans to bring her experience as a member into her new role as Vice President.  “As a Zipcar member, I was impressed by the convenience and financial savings of Zipcar as well as the dedication of its staff,” says Ms. Perez. “As Regional Vice President for Zipcar DC, I plan to bring the benefits of car sharing to more residents, community groups, businesses and universities.”

Ms. Perez joins Zipcar from CakeLove, where she was Managing Director in charge of developing and implementing growth strategies. With previous management experience at Chemonics International, she gained exposure to corporate training and professional development where she designed and reformulated various department strategies for staff. She holds a Masters of Business Administration in strategy and entrepreneurship from the George Washington School of Business and a B.A from the University of Texas at Austin.

Zipcar currently operates approximately 500 vehicles in more than 230 locations throughout Metro Washington, DC.
