How One Way works
When you’re approved, we’ll send you a Zipcard in the mail.
Select “One Way” to book flexible wheels. To unlock, tap your Zipcard to the reader on the windshield.
Select any available drop-off spot near you, then lock up with your Zipcard.
How do I reserve One Way Zipcars?
You can reserve more flexible Zipcars in the One Way tab of the Zipcar app. If you prefer to use your computer, you can also use this link to reserve or click on the One Way link in the navigation bar.

How far in advance can I make a One Way reservation?
For all One Way vehicles, you can book up to 30 minutes in advance and your car will be available starting at the next half hour. For example, if you are searching at 11:29, the next available reservation time will be 11:30. If searching at 11:31, the next available reservation time will be at 12:00.
Do I have to wait until my reservation starts to get in the car?
Nope! The best part about our more flexible wheels is that no one has the car before or after you. You can take the car up to 14 minutes early at no extra charge. If you enter the car 15 to 30 minutes prior, you will be billed for an additional half hour.
How do I find my One Way Zipcar?
One Way cars will be parked in a Zipcar spot. Check the name of the car and the license plate to confirm that it’s the one you reserved.
