Just in time for the summer travel season, Zipcar, and Amtrak Cascades, ranked by National Geographic as one of the best train routes in North America, today announced an expanded partnership to better serve the traveling public. Zipcars are now available for easy access on-site or within walking distance of Seattle’s King Street Station, Vancouver’s Pacific Central Station, as well as Portland Union Station, Salem Station and Eugene Depot, with plans to bring Zipcars to additional stations along the Amtrak Cascades route in the future. This expanded partnership, which originated at Amtrak Cascades stations in Oregon only, enables convenient and sustainable car-free travel along the I-5 corridor for area residents, business travelers, visitors and students looking to explore and experience the region. With Zipcars near Amtrak Cascades stations, riders can enjoy traffic-free train travel with the ability to use a car as they need one once they reach their destination. It’s a flexible solution for those who want to avoid a stressful drive but need a car once they arrive. Zipcar and Amtrak Cascades are excited to work together to make it easier than ever for residents, visitors and students to get out and experience all that the region has to offer, without the worry or stress of sitting in I-5 traffic.
