Zipcar today announced a new partnership with the City of Columbus to bring its “wheels when you want them” membership service to area residents, businesses, visitors and students. Eight Zipcars are now available for reservation from on-street parking spots Downtown, as well as Short North, German Village and Weinland Park through the partnership.

Zipcar and the Maryland Department of Transportation Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) today announced a new partnership to add 15 Zipcars to eight rail stations along the Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink and Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) Train lines. This builds upon the company’s success throughout the state, where it has been operating since 2008.

The fleet, which includes a Honda Civic and a Toyota Prius, will be available for reservation at the following eight stations:

Today, Zipcar announced the launch of a new mobility option in select cities for members who depend on a vehicle during the week to commute to and from work.

The new weekday Zipcar offering provides unlimited, sole access to a vehicle and a parking spot from Monday at 5:00am to Friday at 7:00pm for a monthly fee and per-mile rate. Exclusive weekday wheels simplify the daily commute for urban dwellers who work outside of the city and offers an alternative to the high cost and hassle of car ownership and parking.

Zipcar today announced its expansion to Nordic region with its launch in Reykjavik, Iceland. The expansion brings car sharing to even more people who want access to a car without the cost and hassle of ownership.

Zipcars ranging from Hyundai’s i10 and Nissan’s Leaf EV are now available for reservation by the hour or by the day in easily accessible locations in Reykjavik. The vehicles are parked in designated parking bay for convenient pick-up and drop-off.
