Scott Griffith

chairman and chief executive officer

You can drive a Zipcar forward, backward, left or right, but Scott Griffith – Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zipcar – knows how to take Zipcar straight up.

Since Scott took the wheel in February of 2003, Zipcar has emerged as the world's largest car-sharing service. In the fall of 2007, Scott led Zipcar's merger with Flexcar, managing the integration of the companies' fleet, technology and membership base under the Zipcar brand and service.

Scott has solidified Zipcar's position as the leader of the car-sharing industry, establishing a brand and customer experience that has attracted hundreds of thousands of savvy urban residents and businesses on the go. By forging partnerships with some of the world's top brands and largest automakers, and developing relationships with transit agencies, universities and influential city and state governments, Scott has fostered the emergence of car sharing as a new transportation category, changing urban life by providing instant, affordable mobility in London, England and 28 North American states and provinces.

For his accomplishments at Zipcar, BusinessWeek named Scott one of its "Best Leaders of 2006," and he was the recipient of Babson College's ELiTE Award for entrepreneurship. As a leading authority on the benefits of car sharing and transportation issues, Scott has been interviewed by the world's top news outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, New York Times, CNN, CNBC, USA Today, Associated Press, CBS-TV, FOX-TV, ABC World News Tonight and Time Magazine.

Prior to Zipcar, Scott held senior level positions at The Boeing Company, Information America, an Atlanta-based provider of online public record information, and The Parthenon Group, a boutique business strategy and investment firm.

Scott earned his BS in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his MBA from the University of Chicago.

Mark Norman

president and chief operating officer

Mark is our "car guy". From Vancouver to Chicago to London, Mark Norman is responsible for the worldwide operations of Zipcar. Mark joined Zipcar following its merger with Flexcar in the fall of 2007. He came to us with more than 20 years of executive experience in the automotive industry, including roles as CEO of Flexcar; and chairman, president and CEO of DaimlerChrysler, Canada.

At Zipcar, Mark works with the executive leadership team to ensure optimal member experiences in every Zipcar market. His career has been defined by leveraging operational best practices to ensure customer satisfaction and revenue growth. While in the auto industry, he was responsible for teams numbering in the thousands and revenue in the tens of billions. Mark's ability to streamline complex operations with a focus on what matters most – members – helps Zipcar continue to expand its global operations with the same entrepreneurial and member-centric approach that has made it successful thus far.

Mark holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Rice University in Texas as well as a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Ed Goldfinger

chief financial officer

Ed is the man with the financial plan. He is a seasoned CFO in charge of planning and managing all of those Zipcar doubloons.

The perfect blend of leadership, technology experience and money savvy makes Ed an excellent fit for the world's largest car-sharing company. Most recently Ed was the CFO of Spotfire, a business intelligence and analytics software company sold to TIBCO. This followed on the heels of a successful run at Empirix where Ed held the CFO and then CEO position and led the company through significant growth.

Earlier on, nine years at PepsiCo and the CFO job at Sapient (he knows his technology) followed Ed's public accounting experience with KPMG. Ed is a graduate of the Wharton Undergraduate program at University of Pennsylvania, and he was a CPA in the State of Connecticut.

Luke Schneider

chief technology officer

Part technology guru and part futurist, Luke is Zipcar's CTO. Maintaining Zipcar’s position as a technology leader ain't easy, but he sure makes it look that way. And he ensures that Zipcar's technology stays current across the web, wireless, mobile, and vehicle systems.

Luke earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Texas at Austin, topping that off with an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. He brings to bear more than 20 years of experience in automotive and software industries. Plus, he has spent more than a decade building high-growth technology companies such as B2eMarkets, Verticalnet, and most recently Flexcar.

Doug Williams

vice president, engineering

Doug and his team are responsible for Zipcar's award-winning online, voice, and in-vehicle technology. Their goal is to make it as easy as possible for members to select, reserve, and drive an available car.

Doug joins Zipcar from Empirix, the leading provider of voice and web testing and monitoring solutions, where he was VP of Enterprise Engineering. Prior to Empirix, Doug held the position of SVP of Technology at Family Education Network, the largest K-12 education network on the Internet.

In addition to over 20 years experience managing technology teams, Doug holds a combined Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Degree from Princeton and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Jon Zeitler

executive vice president, corporate development

Jon came to Zipcar as part of our merger with Flexcar where he was VP of Corporate and Strategic Business Development. Going a back a little further, after receiving his BA from Duke University, Jon joined Congressional staff on Capitol Hill, working on early efforts to encourage fuel-efficient and alternative-fuel vehicles. (We like to think of this as the beginning of his journey to Zipcar.) He eventually set out to become a DC corporate lawyer type, receiving his J.D. from Duke and spending time at a DC law firm.

Jon brings to the table extensive experience in the business development, new venture, strategy, and policy arenas. His experience was honed during the ten years he spent at America Online, where he worked in a number of executive positions including Vice President for International Development, Vice President of Business Development for Web Properties, and Associate General Counsel for Strategic Transactions. Following his time at AOL, Jon served as an advisor to a number of high-growth new media companies.

Jon currently splits his time between our Cambridge HQ and DC where, in his spare time, he Chairs the Board of a nonprofit called the Center for Inspired Teaching and proudly coaches a team in the Capitol City Little League.

Sean Quimby

vice president, human resources

Before joining Zipcar, he racked up more than 20 years of experience in the service and hospitality industries, during which he opened eight restaurants as Managing Partner for a multi–unit restaurant group and held several positions in operations management. As Sean found success in recruiting and designing high performing teams, his career naturally evolved towards human resources. Future positions in training and development and recruiting within multiple, successful entrepreneurial environments allowed Sean to further develop skills in management structures, training programs, and performance coaching.

Joining Zipcar; Sean brings particular expertise working in high growth companies and associated infrastructure along with proven talents in concept design, training programs, negotiation, organizational development and operational execution.
