Car Rental Without a Credit Card

Most car hire companies require a credit card which can be inconvenient for many users, that is why, at Zipcar, we accept payment by either debit card or credit card. Simply, select your preferred payment method, including Monzo, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express for UK car rental. The debit or credit card should match your valid driver’s licence in order to rent a car in advance or at the last minute. Once your account is approved, use the app to find and book your next Zipcar.

Absolutely! Debit card car rentals are available in all Zipcar locations in London, Bristol, Cambridge and Oxford. You can hire a car without a credit card and pay with a debit card only. Make sure your debit card matches the registration address, has funds in it and is in your name. We do not accept prepaid cards. You can go wherever you want and pay however you want.

Find, book and unlock your Zipcar all via the app. Rent a Roundtrip car up to a year in advance or a Flex car at the last-minute when you are ready to go. In order to apply, drivers must be 25 years or older and have been driving for at least 1 year to be eligible for membership. Enjoy the freedom to choose the plan that best suits your needs, Basic, Smart or Plus. Once you've joined, you can search, drive and pay by the minute, hour or day. We take care of fuel, insurance and the Congestion Charge too.
