BOSTON, April 2, 2025 — Zipcar, the world’s leading car-sharing network, is proud to announce that Period, a mission-driven student organization at the University of San Francisco (USF), has been awarded the grand prize in Zipcar’s 2025 Students with Drive campaign, for its outstanding efforts to combat period poverty and promote menstrual equity on campus and in the wider community.

Sacramento, Calif. –  The City of Sacramento and the Sac Metro Air District’s Our Community CarShare (OCCS) program will host a special community event at the Pannell Meadowview Community Center to expand electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing designed to provide affordable and sustainable transportation options to income-qualified residents.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Transportation's (DOT) Joint Office of Energy and Transportation (Joint Office) has announced $43.7 million from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Nearly $20 million will benefit Zipcar's public and private partners who have chosen Zipcar as their electric car-sharing provider.

Home to the 62nd Airlift Wing and the I Corps, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) today announced the launch of car-sharing on base as part of Zipcar collaborating with Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). This novel initiative will now bring the benefits of car sharing to the military community, providing easy access to affordable vehicles for personal or professional use without the costs and hassles of owning a vehicle on base.
