Zipcar signs open letter to international community committing to Paris Climate Agreement

We’re still in.

Last month we stood with the Climate Mayors as they pledged to uphold the Paris Climate Agreement and its goals. Since then, over 1,000 governors, mayors, investors, universities and businesses, including Zipcar, have signed an open letter to the international community that declares our united commitment to the Paris Climate Agreement.

At Zipcar, our commitment to the Earth is not fleeting – it is built into our mission and our values. Since our start 17 years ago, we’ve been dedicated to making cities better places to live by reducing carbon emissions, decreasing traffic and congestion, and encouraging multi-modal behavior amongst residents. We’re proud of the impact that we’ve had together and with our over one million members – preventing 1.6 billion pounds of COemissions per year and keeping almost 415,000 personally owned vehicles off the road.

As the open letter states, “actions by each group will multiply and accelerate in the years ahead, no matter what policies Washington may adopt.” Zipcar, no matter what happens, we’re still in.
